dubai quill | mishascape architects

mishascape architects unveiled their impressive structure for zabeel park in dubai. the signature structure engages the local culture, as in the curvaceous strokes of its calligraphy or the flowing robes of its people. comprising of a rose garden, auditorium, library, sky café and grand plaza, the form captures a graceful curved line of the parabola. Arrival at ground level, offers a curved cut into the paved landscape which accesses the rose garden and auditorium below. These spaces and forms project through grade and expose the world below.

Nice to see a design that will take local Arab culture into consideration. Personally I am a bit disappointed that there aren’t more traditional arab-style buildings in Dubai. With way more space than Manhattan there was no real need for massive skyscrapers to be built.
