this house in Santo Tirso, Portugal, designed by the firm GRAU.ZERO, sets itself  between the sculptural and architectural form .  the use of windows was avoided  as possible due to the adjacent school,  internal courtyards where used in order to provide light and ventilation.

the black house, by andrés remy arquitectos, located in buenos aires,  has an almost provocative sobriety, where the pure white in the inside provoques an emotive contrast with the absolute black in the outside. the ground level is divided by a glass bridge linking the everyday and the social areas.

The first level is a black cedar box containing the bedroom and the entrance, the second level a terrace whit nothing but steel columns holding up the third level which contains the living room and kitchen.

the main idea behind this project, designed by a-cero arquitectos, was to integrate it to the surrounding context, looking towards Mera river. the slope, which could be seen as a problem becomes a solution by designing a closed house  to the north and open to the south, thus protected from low temperatures and open to natural light.

the CG house, by gilberto l. rodriguez,  rests on a generous 17,250 sq. ft. site adjacent to the Sierra Madre mountains, in Monterrey, Mexico. from the street, two massive oak tress rise to provide privacy and welcome shade to the swimming pool terrace above. Due to the sloping nature of the site, a massive, exposed concrete wall defines and encloses the swimming pool and garden areas of the house and sets the tone for the design of the house itself, which is clad in brown/black volcanic stone, IPE wood, white stucco and steel.

mishascape architects unveiled their impressive structure for zabeel park in dubai.  the signature structure engages the local culture, as in the curvaceous strokes of its calligraphy or the flowing robes of its people.  comprising of a rose garden, auditorium, library, sky café and grand plaza, the form captures a graceful curved line of the parabola. Arrival at ground level, offers a curved cut into the paved landscape which accesses the rose garden and auditorium below. These spaces and forms project through grade and expose the world below.
