this house in Santo Tirso, Portugal, designed by the firm GRAU.ZERO, sets itself  between the sculptural and architectural form .  the use of windows was avoided  as possible due to the adjacent school,  internal courtyards where used in order to provide light and ventilation.

toys’R'us, by michael johansson, was made for the exhibition Besökarna (the Visitors) in a new part of Malm. consisting of  a boat and related equipment are joined together in a welded metal frame. Everything is painted in a unifying plastic layer to resemble the surface of a model kit. The real boat is transformed into a model of itself, and its original purpose has given way to something else.

the black house, by andrés remy arquitectos, located in buenos aires,  has an almost provocative sobriety, where the pure white in the inside provoques an emotive contrast with the absolute black in the outside. the ground level is divided by a glass bridge linking the everyday and the social areas.

This impressive home, by suppose design, in buzen, conceives the plan as a collection of buildings instead of a set of rooms, where each volume is connected by a courtyard covered with glass. each volume is covered by wood cladding reinforcing the sense of being outside.

the impressive sculptures of  hiroyuki hamada bridges the contrasting conceptions of the industrial and the organic through his minimal yet highly complex process of painting, digging and drilling.

“I’ve been working with plaster for the past 13 years or so. Initially I used it to mix with my paintings. As my paintings got thicker and more object-like, I started stretching burlap on wood panels and wood boxes to coat them with plaster before I painted on them. After a while, they started to take irregular shapes and they became more like sculptures on the wall”  -hiroyuki hamada
